Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Technician to join our quality team. This role is crucial in maintaining our high standards by conducting thorough inspections and audits in accordance with established quality benchmarks and company protocols. The technician will collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly teams to address any quality or production challenges that arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive mechanical inspections of components and assemblies.
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with received parts and products.
  • Perform visual assessments of coatings and finishes based on established guidelines.
  • Measure critical dimensions including length, width, diameter, angles, and hole placements.
  • Ensure clarity in engineering drawings to facilitate manufacturability and inspection processes.
  • Identify, quarantine, and document all non-conforming parts and assemblies.
  • Communicate vendor performance metrics to uphold quality standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments regarding any questionable or non-conforming components.
  • Develop and implement inspection methods to evaluate product precision and accuracy.
  • Work alongside engineering and team leads to resolve issues promptly.
  • Review daily production schedules to ensure timely delivery of parts.
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent) with 3 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree in a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) for report generation and communication.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong mathematical and measurement skills.
  • Experience in welding and machine shop environments is advantageous.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Physical capability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift up to 35 lbs.
