Senior Accounting Leader for Financial Reporting and Compliance

Nova Biomedical is seeking a seasoned Senior Accounting Leader to oversee financial reporting and compliance for our Waltham, MA facility.
To ensure the financial and management reporting within the Company is reliable, accurate, and complete, and that financial transactions are properly recorded, classified, and summarized. The successful candidate will provide timely information to Company management to lead the Company successfully.
This role will also aid in the evaluation of Company internal controls, policies, and procedures.
This is an in-office position with significant responsibilities, including:
- Overseeing the timely financial closing cycle and preparing the Company's consolidated financial statements.
- Reviewing general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness, interpreting trends or deviations and making recommendations for corrective action.
- Driving the reporting of ASC606 policies across the organization, including company's worldwide subsidiary locations.
- Leading the improvement of accounting software systems relative to ASC606.
- Reviewing customer contracts and sales orders to determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment in accordance with US GAAP and company policy, and identifying any issues.
- Preparing monthly close reports and analysis as needed.
- Working closely with international finance members to ensure accurate financial reporting and implementation of accounting policies and positions.
- Acting as the point person to assist auditors with any and all revenue related requests.
- Supporting the annual AOP process.
- Identifying process improvements to further streamline accounting processes.
- Developing systems and reports required to support annual financial disclosure.
- Driving continuous process improvement in both departmental procedures and the ERP system (SAP).
Qualifications:
- Industry and public accounting experience is preferred.
- Physical Requirements: Keyboarding.
Skills and Competencies:
- Experience researching and documenting technical accounting matters.
- Ability to take ownership to lead and drive projects/issues to completion.
- A dedicated, self-motivated person that is ambitious, creative, and energetic. A professional who has the ability to adapt to the needs of a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong control of MS Office applications and ERP Systems, SAP experience desired.
Education/Experience:
- B.S. in Accounting.
- 4+ years experience in accounting with extensive and strong functional knowledge and experience with current revenue recognition guidance required, as well as experience with private industry financial reporting and accounting. Prior supervision of a team required.
Compensation: The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location.
