Position Overview
Role Summary
PCSI is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Assistant to join our team. This role involves performing minor repairs and adjustments across various systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural components. The individual will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and upkeep of building systems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and waste systems.
- Maintain and clean mechanical rooms to ensure optimal operation.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks such as changing filters and cleaning cooling towers.
- Assist in the manufacturing, repair, and installation of screens and glass.
- Oversee sign maintenance, including inspections and painting.
- Complete necessary paperwork and documentation related to maintenance tasks.
Additional Duties May Include:
- Replacing electrical components such as receptacles and switches.
- Patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repair or replace plumbing fixtures and toilets.
- Paint and maintain structures and equipment.
- Repair concrete surfaces and replace damaged flooring.
- Install doors and locks as needed.
- Replace broken windowpanes.
- Perform general maintenance on various equipment.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Ability to perform assigned duties effectively.
- Prior experience in facility maintenance is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders; frequent kneeling and bending.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs multiple times a day.
- Proficient in various maintenance tasks and use of hand and power tools.
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Other Requirements:
- Must pass background checks and drug screenings.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record is necessary.
