Job Title: CNC Programmer

We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team at Elkay Interior Systems In. As a CNC Programmer, you will play a crucial role in planning, designing, and writing CNC programs for machines utilizing Router-Cim software.

Responsibilities:
  • Engineer product programs to calculate number, quantity, speeds, and feeds, and size of parts.
  • Optimize "Nest" "Cut Works" programs for Gerber fabric cutter.
  • Analyze, edit, and alter programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Check accuracy of drawings or plan sets and verify dimensions, including field dimensions.
  • Make entries into "Plan Set" discrepancy log.
  • Assist with training new employees on methods, processes, policies, and procedures to ensure the efficient writing of CNC programs.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
  • Requires a high school diploma.
  • A one-year certificate from College or Technical College is preferred with coursework in CNC Programming, Auto CAD & Computer Programming; or 3-5 years of related experience.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Previous experience to "Router-Cim", "Cut-Works" or equivalent programming software desired.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, drawings, and CNC programs.
  • Ability to prepare CNC programs, routine reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
