AC&R Technician

About the Role:
This position supports the US Navy Commander, Naval Air Force, US Atlantic Fleet's (COMNAVAIRLANT) Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) Project, focusing on shipboard Auxiliary Engineering Equipment including Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Pumps, Water Heaters, Solid Waste Processing Equipment, and HP/LP Air Compressors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train Ship Force Personnel in troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of Auxiliary Equipment onboard CVN-Class Aircraft Carriers using technical documents.
- Develop and use technical documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes, and procedures.
- Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management.
- Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignments.
Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.
- Ability to train, teach, and/or mentor coworkers and customer personnel in maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and/or technical manuals.
- Ability to obtain and maintain base access, CAC card, and a Confidential Security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working and repair knowledge of Centrifugal Pumps, Air Compressors, Steam Water Heaters, Solid Waste Processing Equipment, and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
- At least 8 years' experience.
- Prior Navy Engineers.
