Patient Care Assistant

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with registered nurses to ensure a safe and supportive environment for patient care.
- Exhibit fundamental knowledge and skills to effectively communicate and execute delegated tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Accurately document patient data and relay observations and concerns to the registered nurse.
- Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring call lights are accessible, bed alarms are utilized, side rails are raised, and beds are positioned appropriately.
- Measure and record patients' vital signs.
- Monitor patients' conditions regularly and report any changes or concerns promptly.
- Maintain precise documentation of observations and interventions in the medical records.
- Respond promptly to all patient requests.
- Assist patients with mobility and daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and eating.
- Facilitate basic patient transport as needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist in preparing and cleaning patient rooms as required.
- Engage in Purposeful Hourly Rounding and Bedside Shift Report as instructed.
- Carry out direct and indirect patient care tasks as assigned, and provide clerical support to the unit.
- Manage unit records and ensure routine supplies are stocked appropriately.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Idaho.
- BLS certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a nursing assistant role.
