Upholstery Technician Senior

The Senior Upholstery Technician is responsible for designing, fabricating, and installing upholstery and trim items in aircraft interiors. This role requires a high level of expertise in upholstery and sewing processes, as well as the ability to work independently and lead a team.
Key Responsibilities- Design and fabricate seat covers, curtains, and other assemblies and subassemblies to meet design and engineering requirements.
- Interpret material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure finished products meet quality and safety standards.
- Use advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes to create custom designs and patterns.
- Work with design/drawings to cut and install advanced custom design carpets with unique patterns.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians to ensure they complete assigned tasks in accordance with required levels of safety, quality, and productivity.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4 years experience in upholstery, including 2 years aircraft upholstery experience or 6 years commercial upholstery experience.
- Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and products.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand proficiently the English language.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Must be computer literate.
- Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
