We are seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Assist RNs with daily patient care, including bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, and ambulation.
- Measure and document patient data, such as blood pressures, temperatures, and intake/output.
- Perform purposeful rounding and communicate patient observations and needs to RNs.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge processes, including room setup and patient orientation.
- Collect and process patient specimens, perform point-of-care testing, and maintain competency.
- Complete errands, maintain stock, and clean equipment and work areas.
- Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, including lifting and pushing/pulling.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 45 days.
- Nurse Aide certification in good standing with the State Registry.
- Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, push/pull with 30 lbs of force, and perform sliding transfers.
- Functional vision and hearing, with ability to wear protective clothing as needed.
