Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team at ProMedica. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our environmental services department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise and train a team of environmental services personnel to ensure they are meeting job expectations and adhering to quality standards.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff members.
  • Operations Management
    • Plan, organize, and coordinate the daily activities of the environmental services department.
    • Monitor and control departmental budgets, ensuring that expenses are within established guidelines.
    • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Inspect assigned areas to ensure compliance with departmental and regulatory agency procedures and quality standards.
    • Identify and address any quality control issues or concerns.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Interact with patients, contractors, management, and other departments to ensure proper coordination of efforts and effective communication.
    • Participate in hospital activities and special events to promote good public relations.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience
    • Three years of housekeeping experience with a minimum of three years of progressive management experience required.
  • Skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to lead personnel.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of all areas of the position to train and direct staff.

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Physical Demands
    • Frequent movement, lifting, or carrying of materials weighing up to 50 pounds, 20% of the time.
