Position Summary:
The Bartender will engage with patrons to enhance their dining experience by serving food and beverages with exceptional service. By attentively interacting with guests, bartenders will identify their preferences and align them with our offerings. This role encompasses all server responsibilities, in addition to providing beverage service at the bar and throughout the dining area. Bartenders are expected to skillfully craft cocktails, pour wine and beer, and serve multiple guests simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the Justin Thompson Restaurant Group.
  • Prepare the bar area for service, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Foster relationships with guests by learning their names and preferences.
  • Welcome guests warmly and promptly, addressing them by name.
  • Inform guests about our offerings and engage them in conversation.
  • Accurately take and record orders using the POS system.
  • Proactively suggest menu items that may interest guests.
  • Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes and standards.
  • Maintain a smooth operation of the bar and restaurant.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all bar areas, including counters and storage.
  • Check back with guests to ensure satisfaction during their meal.
  • Report any equipment issues to the Bar Manager.
  • Complete assigned side work as directed by the Manager on Duty.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with colleagues and guests.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in food and beverage service or 1 year in bartending.
  • Strong knowledge of bar products and their uses.
  • Able to recognize the effects of alcohol on guests and respond appropriately.
  • Possess a valid food handler's license and comply with all regulations.
  • Hold a valid alcohol service license and adhere to all relevant laws.
  • Experience with POS systems and basic math skills.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, up to 6 hours.
