As a key member of the Government Jobs team, the Water/Wastewater Equipment Operator II will be responsible for coordinating, performing, and supervising the maintenance and construction of the City's water/wastewater systems and related equipment. This includes operating heavy equipment, maintaining various types of maintenance equipment and tools, and preparing and maintaining departmental maintenance records.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinates and Performs Maintenance: Supervise and participate in the maintenance and construction of water/wastewater systems and related equipment.
- Operates Heavy Equipment: Safely operate heavy equipment, such as cranes, excavators, and bulldozers, to perform maintenance and construction tasks.
- Maintains Equipment and Tools: Ensure that all maintenance equipment and tools are in good working condition and properly maintained.
- Prepares and Maintains Records: Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance activities, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and replacements.
- Trains and Supervises Personnel: Provide training and supervision to assigned personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
This position requires a strong background in water/wastewater systems maintenance and operation, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant work experience in a maintenance or operations role.
