  • Patient Education: Deliver essential educational resources to patients, clarify treatment processes, and provide fundamental health information.
  • Medical Equipment Oversight: Organize and maintain medical tools and devices, ensure proper sterilization of instruments, and keep examination areas orderly.
  • Support in Minor Procedures: Aid physicians with basic medical tasks, including wound suturing, suture removal, and dressing applications.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the role may encompass specialized functions such as administering medications, drawing blood, or performing electrocardiograms (EKGs), depending on the work environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to perform well under pressure.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
  • CPR certification may be necessary.
