Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse RN to join our team at Henrico Doctors Hospital Forest. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical-surgical nursing, with a focus on wound care.

Responsibilities:

  • Use the nursing process to provide direct patient care and assist staff with assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care needs.
  • Work closely with providers and nurse leadership to coordinate and enhance care for high-risk patient populations related to integumentary system complications.
  • Develop and implement teaching programs for patients/families and contribute to the development of wound, ostomy, or continence treatment policies or care management strategies.
  • Lead the revision of clinical standards and protocols applying evidence-based principles and recent research.
  • Facilitate Prevalence study data collection, education, and dissemination of results through the Prevalence team, clinical leadership, and educational sessions.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred)
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license
  • Current BLS and CPR certification
  • Minimum of three years of Medical Surgical nursing practice with a Wound Ostomy Certification (CWON) or eligible to become certified within 12 months of hire
