About the Job
We are seeking a Child Development Specialist to join our team at our Berkeley location. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth and development of young children.
Job Summary:
The Child Development Specialist will be responsible for observing, recording, and reporting on the developmental progress of children. This role involves working closely with teachers and other staff members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
Responsibilities:
- Observe and record child behavior and development
- Analyze data to identify areas of strength and weakness
- Develop and implement strategies to support child development and academic achievement
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement activities that promote child growth and well-being
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents on a regular basis
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development or related field
- 1-2 years of experience working with preschool-age children
- Knowledge of child development theory and best practices in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Salary Range: $24.92-$25.17 per hour, depending on experience
