About the Role:

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to support the goals and operations of the Museum. As a Museum Preparator, you will collaborate with the manager of exhibits and the director of galleries and exhibitions to ensure the operational support and maintenance of new and existing Museum exhibits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation, maintenance, and de-installation of exhibits
  • Collaborate with curators, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure exhibit quality and accuracy
  • Assist with the development and implementation of exhibit plans and schedules
  • Provide administrative support for exhibit-related tasks
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Museum by participating in team meetings and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field, such as museum work, exhibit design, or customer service
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
