Role Overview: Under the guidance of the Chief Strategy Officer, the Grants Administration Specialist will oversee the comprehensive management of grant initiatives. This includes the essential tasks of research, qualification, cultivation, proposal crafting, submission, reporting, tracking, recognition, and stewardship of grants, while enhancing the grant administration workflow.

This role encompasses various types of funding sources, including local, federal, and governmental grants, with a particular focus on those provided by HRSA (Health Resources Services Administration).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete spectrum of grant administration activities, which includes evaluating funding opportunities, suggesting potential funding sources, participating in pre- and post-award meetings, coordinating program and financial reporting timelines with team members, tracking grant progress, negotiating new or modified requirements, and addressing any necessary remedial actions.
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial reporting.
  • Conduct funder research, maintain databases, and perform proofreading, editing, and various administrative duties.
  • Keep an organized annual grants calendar and utilize designated software to manage donor databases, track individual grant proposals, and generate grant status and funding reports. Monitor and report on grant writing, submission, and reporting activities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in business, nonprofit management, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing and management, with a proven track record in federal and foundation grant writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in grant management.
