Job Summary:

The RN - Ambulatory Services Manager will be responsible for managing a large unit or multiple units providing ambulatory services. This includes ensuring staff provides high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care to patients across the continuum, while complying with local, state, and federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the operations of a large unit or multiple units, ensuring Assistants and staff provide the highest quality of care and are in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to establish, implement, and maintain patient care and quality service standards to meet members and internal clients' expectations.
  • Act as a patient advocate, resolving patient care issues and designing and evaluating processes to improve systems and patient care results across the continuum of care.
  • Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations, as well as monitor financial performance and identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care/service.
  • Determine the appropriate staff mix for the department and develop processes to screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain the competency of all department staff.
  • Provide ongoing staff development and manage and resolve human resource, labor relations, employee and department safety, and risk management issues.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies and procedures that support the organization's goals and business objectives.
Requirements:
  • 5 years of experience in nursing, specifically management/leadership
  • 5 years of experience in supervisory roles
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or 4 years in a directly-related field)
  • Registered Nurse (RN), California
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • PALS/PEARS, and/or ACLS Certifications (may be required)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, and federal regulations
  • Respiratory/Sleep/Pulmonology experience
  • 3 years of experience in an outpatient care setting
  • Master's Degree
  • Clinical specialization in the area of practice
