  • Patient Monitoring: Assist in monitoring patients during surgery, providing vital support and care.
  • Supportive Care: Provide supportive care during the pre-operative phase, ensuring patients are comfortable and prepared for surgery.
  • Scrub Functions: Perform scrub functions, working closely with surgeons and circulating registered nurses to ensure a smooth surgical process.
  • Specimen Collection: Collect and label specimens taken during surgical procedures, maintaining accurate records and adhering to protocols.
  • Safety Procedures: Follow all federal, state, and departmental safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff and patients.
  • Supply Ordering and Inventory: Assist with supply ordering and inventory management, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and up-to-date.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification: Surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room setting.
  • Certifications: First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • Skills: Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment, ability to lift 50 lbs, and working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
