**Position Overview:** DCWP is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Research and Settlement Coordinator within the General Counsel Division.

Under general supervision, the Research and Settlement Coordinator will conduct in-depth research activities to evaluate and prepare written settlement proposals, facilitate settlement discussions, and finalize settlement agreements with businesses regarding various violations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts research by gathering and analyzing current and historical data for reports that may be utilized in administrative hearings.
  • Collects source materials through record examination and personal interviews.
  • Maintains accurate records of factual and statistical data using DCWP's web-based Accela software.
  • Responds to information requests via email and correspondence that require thorough research.
  • Performs historical analyses and compiles reports based on findings.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and six months of relevant full-time research experience involving data collection, organization, analysis, and report writing; or
  • An associate degree from an accredited college or completion of 60 semester credits at an accredited institution, along with two years and six months of relevant full-time research experience; or
  • A four-year high school diploma or its equivalent and four years and six months of relevant full-time research experience; or
  • Equivalent education and experience as described above.

Note: Undergraduate college credits may substitute for experience at a rate of 30 semester credits for one year of full-time experience. Completion of nine credits in statistics, quantitative methods, mathematics, or research can substitute for six months of required experience.

**Preferred Skills:**

  • Excellent communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Microsoft Excel; attention to detail is essential
  • Familiarity with internet research and Accela software is advantageous
  • Experience with case preparation for administrative hearings is a plus.

**Residency Requirement:** New York City residency is typically required within 90 days of appointment. However, City employees in certain titles who have served for two continuous years may also be eligible to reside in specific counties.
