ESL Instructor

East Side House Settlement is seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESL Instructor to join our Adult Literacy Program (ALE). As an ESL Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality instruction to adult learners in English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.

The ESL Instructor will work with a diverse group of adult learners to improve their English language skills, with a focus on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching ESL, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to the needs of diverse learners.

• Plan and deliver ESL instruction to adult learners, using research-based instructional strategies and best practices.
• Assess student learning, monitor progress, and provide feedback and support to students.
• Develop and implement digital curriculums to meet the needs of each student.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments to measure student progress.
• Maintain accurate student records and complete all reporting requirements.
• Attend professional training, cross-departmental meetings, case conferences, workshops, and events.

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Two years of teaching experience in secondary education or adult education.
• Ability to form strong relationships with adult learners.
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Flexible and able to work under pressure.
• Strong computer skills and technological experience, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Language skills in Spanish.
