Role Summary:

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is responsible for administering various types of anesthesia, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. This role involves performing anesthesia-related procedures under the guidance of an attending anesthesiologist. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting pre-anesthesia evaluations and medication management.
  • Requesting necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Administering anesthesia techniques such as general anesthesia, epidurals, caudals, and nerve blocks.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in sedation methods.
  • Managing cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
  • Implementing both invasive and non-invasive monitoring techniques.
  • Providing post-anesthesia care and discharge instructions.

The Department of Anesthesiology at Hendricks Regional Health adopts a collaborative approach to patient care, involving anesthesiologists, certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), and student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs). Candidates must be licensed CRNAs or students nearing graduation with a Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia. We look forward to reviewing your qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • Graduation from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.
  • Eligibility for medical malpractice insurance as mandated by state regulations.
Licensure/Certifications:
  • Current state licensure as a registered nurse in Indiana is mandatory.
  • Compliance with all applicable state regulations is required.
