Job Overview

Arlington/Roe & Co Inc, a family-owned wholesaler and managing general agency in the property and casualty sector, is seeking a dedicated Associate Broker to join our Professional Liability division. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely.

Position Summary:

The primary objective of this role is to assist a Broker in developing a portfolio of professional liability brokerage business, which includes a combination of new and renewal accounts. This position necessitates effective communication and collaboration within a team setting.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in property and casualty insurance
  • Highly driven and eager to embrace challenges
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary
  • Ability to comprehend client needs and understand associated risk profiles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Broker in retaining renewals and fostering new business relationships
  • Establish and uphold a positive reputation both internally and externally
  • Prepare high-quality submissions for quoting purposes
  • Support the Broker(s) with new business, renewals, endorsements, and all processes throughout a policy's lifecycle
  • Conduct data entry into various internet-based systems primarily for quoting
  • Address and resolve inquiries related to issues, delays, and discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Communicate effectively with retail and carrier partners via phone, email, and in-person meetings
  • Negotiate optimal terms and coverage options with accessible markets while keeping all producers informed about submissions and decisions in a timely manner
  • Create loss summaries and analytical exhibits
  • Assist in training assistant brokers as needed to enhance team performance
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
