Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Revenue Specialist to join our team at Hampton Roads Transit. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance to the Director of Revenue, performing data-entry functions, preparing reports and forms, supervising money counting operations, and receiving and accounting for cash to bank accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform monthly reconciliation of TVM/Customer Service change funds in vault
  • Assist with Revenue Procurement Contracts
  • Prepare and submit RFP submissions
  • Exercise Option Years
  • Approve invoices
  • Maintain inventory of fare media (monthly inventory counts and ordering)
  • Record and approve the destruction of all used or expired tickets
  • Maintain supplies and reconcile to budget
  • Communicate with employees and managers to exchange information and explain procedures
  • Perform Money Room Operations Supervisor duties in absence
  • Daily deposit reconciliation
  • Deposit receipts to appropriate bank accounts
  • Collect money from farebox and vault bags
  • Supervise and assist Money Room Attendants in counting bills for daily deposit, seal coins for shipment by armored car
  • Assist in supervising Revenue Attendants and overseeing assigned workload, which includes monitoring and enforcing all security policies
  • Report violations to Money Room Operations Supervisor and assist in administering disciplinary action
  • Approve employees' work schedules and time reports in absence of Money Room Operations Supervisor
  • Order fulfillment/shipping
  • Conduct ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Manage employee pin/alarm codes and key issuance
  • Manage money room access forms and compliance
  • Manage new hire and termination forms
  • Manage records created and received in compliance with Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policy and Procedures

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures
  • Ability to interact effectively with TDCHR managers and staff and with representatives of outlets
  • Ability to make logical decisions based on understanding of day-to-day operations, using sound judgment and common sense

Software Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using computer systems and listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work
  • Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used

Safety Responsibility:

  • Perform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and public from injury or harm
  • Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies
  • Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within workplace to Supervisor, Manager, and/or Safety Department

Training and/or Education:

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent work experience in revenue

Required Experience:

  • Three years of revenue experience

Licenses or Certificates:

  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after date of hire (in instances when out of state license is not applicant's current state of residence)
