Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse at Danbury Hospital, you will be responsible for providing professional care to patients in the Recovery Room. This role requires a strong nursing background, with a focus on patient assessment, goal-directed planning, and implementation of care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform ongoing and systematic assessments of patients' physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
- Formulate a goal-directed plan of care based on determined nursing diagnoses and patient outcomes.
- Implement care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner.
- Establish priorities of patient care based on essential patient needs and available resources.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of care given and patient progression toward outcomes.
- Identify patients' and significant others' learning needs and implement appropriate measures to meet them.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary functions.
- Fulfill all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
Requirements:
- State of CT RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
- One year of RN PACU/ICU experience.
Working Conditions:
- Significant manual skills/motor coordination and finger dexterity.
- Significant occupational risk.
- Very heavy effort, exerting up to 50 lbs. force.
- Significant exposure to dirt, odor, noise, human waste, etc.
