Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Systems Engineer to join our team at Express. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the business needs of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in business requirement gathering meetings to understand business needs and determine feasibility of requests.
  • Complete the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from design to implementation, including integration with other systems.
  • Provide support and troubleshooting for all related systems and technologies.
  • Participate in project lifecycle projects to understand business requirements and complete design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
  • Participate in discussions concerning innovative, cost-effective ways to implement new technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent combination of coursework and job experience.
  • 5-7+ years of technical experience, with a focus on software development and system engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interpret issues and provide resolution.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle DB, and integration experience.
  • Technical expertise in required languages, operating systems, databases, development tools, networking, and/or software packages.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Payment Systems design/development, Point-of-Sale Systems design/development, and detailed knowledge of Card Payment Flows.
  • Experience with Settlement and Bank Reconciliation, different types of Payment Transactions, and Integrated Sales Capture and Device Interaction within a Stores Retail environment.
  • Experience with Payment Hardware and software, Credit Certification Testing Methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with Private Label Credit Card (PLCC) and Gift Card, Card Data Security Standards (Encryption and EMV), and Solid understanding of network hardware and communication protocols.
