Senior Surveying Project Coordinator

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with a team of technical professionals and/or contractors responsible for various surveying activities, including but not limited to transmission lines, distribution lines, gas pipelines, seismic studies, construction staking, and land transactions for a specified region.
  • Oversees, coordinates, inspects, and evaluates survey work conducted by external vendors to ensure adherence to Duke Energy's technical standards, project timelines, and budgetary constraints, while recommending approval of deliverables. Provides expert technical input for project development utilizing advanced technology and cost management, while prioritizing safety and quality.
  • Applies extensive knowledge of survey law, engineering principles, project management, and critical thinking to facilitate company acquisition and disposition projects.
  • Establishes and nurtures effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stays updated on best practices, regulations, and legal requirements pertaining to land surveying functions.

Qualifications

Basic/Required Qualifications (Senior Surveying Project Coordinator)

  • Associate's degree in Surveying, Topography, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience OR
  • High School diploma/GED with 7+ years of relevant experience.

Basic/Required Qualifications (Land Surveying Coordinator)

  • Associate's degree in Surveying, Topography, or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience OR
  • High School diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Registered Land Surveyor certification.
  • Ability to manage and direct all phases of a contract with strong project management capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
  • Proven ability to interpret construction plans.
  • Able to work independently to verify deliverables and perform complex calculations using standard surveying software.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills to navigate and resolve challenges on complex assignments.

Working Conditions

  • Field Mobility Classification – Work will be conducted in various field locations as required, following the onboarding period. Field employees must reside within a reasonable daily commuting distance to their assigned work location.
  • Alternative work locations may be available for consideration.
