Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Manager to join our team. This role will work closely with the Superintendent and Project Manager to administer, direct, and implement compliance with our Corporate Safety and Health policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections and record safe and unsafe conditions using advanced software solutions.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to project-specific safety binders and document storage systems.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate subcontractor pre-construction safety planning meetings.
  • Act as a resource for field operations, providing expertise on federal, state, and local safety and health regulations.
  • Review subcontractors' site-specific safety programs and job hazard analyses prior to subcontractor mobilization.
  • Attend and monitor tool box talks conducted by subcontractors.
  • Investigate accidents on the job site and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with regional risk managers to identify claims trends and develop proactive risk management strategies.
  • Review documentation from subcontractors to ensure proper training of their employees.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, and other safety-related topics.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in construction health and safety, with a strong understanding of federal and state safety and health regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • OSHA Construction Industry Outreach Trainer certification.
  • Ability to achieve CHST designation within two years.
  • Expertise in construction and safety technologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong planning, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and positively with others.
  • Capacity to coordinate efforts with field staff and external partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to sit for long periods, talk or hear, and perform fine motor skills. The employee will also be required to stand, walk, and reach with arms and/or hands.
