We are seeking a committed Senior Child Care Educator to contribute to our mission at Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church (PUMBC). The successful candidate will possess a strong dedication to providing compassionate care and oversight to children within our Child Development Program, alongside guiding and mentoring Assistant Educators.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula to foster children's cognitive growth and learning
  • Ensure the well-being and safety of all children participating in the program
  • Maintain a tidy and structured classroom environment
  • Document observations regarding children's behavior and developmental progress
  • Engage with parents to discuss and address developmental issues
  • Keep precise attendance and enrollment documentation
  • Observe for indicators of child abuse and report any incidents
  • Provide leadership and support to Assistant Educators
  • Comply with all program policies and guidelines
  • Stay informed on best practices in Early Childhood Development
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of experience in child care
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR
  • Capability to lift up to 50lbs without assistance
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Successful completion of background checks
