Thrive Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Specialist to join our team. As a Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Job Summary:The Care Specialist will be responsible for providing routine care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as the established policies and procedures of the Community. This includes verifying individualized service plans, recognizing and responding to resident needs, and reporting changes in resident conditions to supervisors.
Responsibilities:- Provide routine care to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as assisting with personal care functions such as dental and mouth care, bowel and bladder care, and other hygiene-related tasks.
- Monitor and report symptoms of potential skin breakdown and/or decubitus ulcers, and intervene with appropriate skincare as instructed.
- Assist with resident move-ins, transfers, and move-outs, and ensure that the Staff Call System is within easy reach at all times and answered promptly.
- Measure and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, and height, and report any resident abuse immediately.
- Attend and participate in orientation programs, ongoing training, and educational classes, and follow established safety precautions and observe, monitor, and intervene or report unsafe conditions in the facility.
- A minimum educational background of completing the 10th grade is required, and a High School diploma or equivalency is preferred.
- A current CPR certification is required, and we offer CPR certification within your first 30 days.
- At least six months of experience working in an assisted living community, nursing homes, memory care communities, hospitals, home health agencies, or another healthcare facility is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of resident care, procedures, and documentation, and communicate with residents on an adult and mature basis with dignity and respect for their rights and wishes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on solving conflict and not blaming, and maintaining a calm environment throughout the Community.
