Role Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Product Data & Systems Supervisor is to oversee and guide the Data & Systems Technicians in their tasks, ensuring accuracy and consistency between legacy and current engineering documentation. This role involves maintaining three critical systems (JDEdwards, Catia, and Smarteam) with precise data derived from engineering schematics. You will also be responsible for alerting engineers to any discrepancies between new and existing components, investigating missing or erroneous part numbers, and keeping a comprehensive record of all modifications, part number updates, and omissions.



Key Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Level I:
- Convert customer specifications into detailed mechanical designs for mass production.
- Create 3D models and technical drawings for final assembly and production.
- Review and validate production drawings for accuracy.
- Update Bills of Materials (BOM) and drawings as per specifications or managerial directives.
- Conduct product structure and design fit-up assessments.
- Generate BOMs for the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
- Provide technical support related to product design to various departments and assist in material procurement.
- Address technical queries from Manufacturing, Sales, and Accounting teams.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of Bills of Material and material specifications.
- Review material specifications to meet customer requirements.
- Propose and discuss product specifications with the Sales Department.
- Identify and escalate significant engineering concerns to the Engineering Manager.
- Independently determine engineering modifications that do not necessitate higher-level approval.
- Mentor less experienced colleagues to enhance their understanding of processes and products.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Level II:
- Demonstrate a higher level of expertise and proficiency in all performance aspects compared to Product Engineer I.
- Independently determine engineering modifications that do not require higher-level approval.
- Continue mentoring less experienced colleagues to build their knowledge base.

Level III:
- Exhibit advanced capability and proficiency in all performance aspects compared to Product Engineer II.
- Review orders prior to processing for accuracy.

Qualifications:
Required Skills and Experience:

Education:
A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Skills:
- High creativity, sound judgment, and technical acumen are essential.
- Strong decision-making capabilities.
- Proficiency in computer systems and measuring instruments such as gauges and test rigs.
- Familiarity with software applications (AutoCAD, CATIA, SmarTeam, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to adapt to evolving MRP/ERP system implementations.

Work Environment:
The noise level in the office environment is typically minimal to moderate. The plant environment includes a large manufacturing facility with active assembly processes, industrial fabrication activities, and storage of completed products on unpaved surfaces.
