BASIS Ed is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Exceptional Student Services Program Manager to join our team in the Phoenix Metro Area. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to lead all aspects of the Special Education program at a school site, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and laws.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Special Education process, including programs under IDEA, Section 504, and EL. They will oversee child find activities, evaluations, plan creation, implementation, and periodic reviews, ensuring that specially designed instruction is consistent with individual student needs. Additionally, they will provide guidance and professional development to general education teachers on student accommodation implementation, IDEA, FAPE, Child Find obligations, and the student referral process.

We are looking for an exceptional leader who can ensure seamless communication between all parties involved and maintain open channels. The ideal candidate will be able to identify and serve English Learners (EL) and ensure compliance with all state and federal Special Education requirements and deadlines.

In this role, you will work closely with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring that eligible students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). You will also collaborate with school leaders to schedule and facilitate parent meetings, hearing and vision screenings, and student plan reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the student special education process, ensuring compliance with IDEA, EL, and Section 504;
  • Provide guidance and professional development to general education teachers on student accommodation implementation, IDEA, FAPE, and the student referral process;
  • Identify and serve English Learners (EL) and ensure compliance with all state and federal Special Education requirements and deadlines;
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring that eligible students receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE);
  • Schedule and facilitate parent meetings, hearing and vision screenings, and student plan reviews;
  • Maintain accurate and timely data for internal and external regulatory purposes;
  • Collaborate with school leaders to develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes;
  • Other duties as assigned.
