Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Project Manager to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our Capital Projects Directorate, you will be responsible for leading the integration of construction project work across the laboratory.

The selected candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously. You will be responsible for establishing and managing project management plans, prioritizing projects, and evaluating requests for scope, budget, or schedule changes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the integration of construction project work across the laboratory
  • Establishing and managing project management plans
  • Prioritizing projects and evaluating requests for scope, budget, or schedule changes
  • Managing project risks and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Developing and implementing knowledge management initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Strong background in project management, with experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in facilities, operations, or planning
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interface and communicate with senior leaders
