This position can be at our Twin Cities office in Osseo, MN or at our Hackensack, MN location.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The role involves researching suppliers and negotiating products and contracts with both Domestic and International suppliers to support the production and development of global products for Mann Lake Ltd.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Procure goods, materials, components, and services that align with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Oversee all purchase orders and cultivate effective relationships with suppliers and the sourcing team.
- Establish and maintain relationships with new suppliers, manage item information, and update purchasing data in the company’s systems.
- Assess the performance of all carriers, suppliers, and goods delivery, making recommendations to enhance processes for the procurement process.
- Ensure effective customer service and timely delivery while tracking product progress and development.
- Monitor potential international stock shortages caused by delivery delays and take necessary actions to ensure product availability.
- Track cost savings, cost avoidance, and cost increases.
- Collaborate with the supply chain manager to prepare and evaluate all bids, contracts, and vendor agreements, ensuring accuracy and pricing.
- Administer and oversee all alternative sources for rejected, late, and backordered items.
- Manage all communications and negotiate with suppliers on pricing and delivery terms to minimize inventory levels and costs.
- Prepare and manage offers from inception to completion, including supplier contracts and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with department managers to clarify purchase requisitions, identify departmental needs, and refine specifications for future purchase orders. Assist the purchasing team and other departments by communicating any supply issues that may impact business operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Previous procurement experience in manufacturing is strongly preferred. International sourcing experience is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be adaptable and flexible to changes.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment and lead a small team as necessary.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to perform cognitive tasks such as decision-making, learning, rational thinking, and exercising sound judgment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others both in writing and verbally, including via telephone.
- Mobility within the work facility and complex.
- Ability to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
