Job Summary

We are seeking an Experienced PA/NP Advanced Practice Clinician to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a vital member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide excellence in emergency medical care in various treatment areas, including the ED, Fast Track, and The Urgency Room. Your key responsibilities will include coordinating care with consultant services, recommending follow-up care, facilitating referrals, and participating in continuous quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a physician.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and gather patient medical data.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests, interpret test results, and perform therapeutic procedures.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, and ensure continuity of care.
  • Prescribe, administer, and dispense medications, as well as instruct patients on prescribed regimens.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with patients, family members, colleagues, and other medical professionals.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • 1+ years of experience working as an APC in a high-volume hospital emergency department.
  • Completion of an accredited physician assistant or nursing practitioner program.
  • Current licensure with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice or Minnesota Board of Nursing.
  • Current ACLS, ATLS, and BLS certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A high level of professionalism, responsibility, and ethical practice.

Working Conditions

This role requires long periods of sitting and standing, as well as the ability to regularly lift up to 30 pounds. You will work in a comfortable, well-lit environment with a diverse group of patients. Schedules can vary according to practice setting, but may include days, nights, and weekends.
