MRI Technologist Job Description

As a key member of the University of California team, the MRI Technologist will play a vital role in performing complex MR imaging procedures and post-processing responsibilities. This position requires a deep understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate processing of radiology orders
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of procedures performed
  • Operate various post-processing/3D workstations
  • Perform accurate image archival
  • Prepare and administer paramagnetic contrast media
  • Sensitively handle physical and emotional needs of patients

Requirements:

  • ARRT and CRT certifications
  • MR certificate or ARRT, ARMRIT (MR) certification
  • Venipuncture certificate
  • BCLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Graduate from a AMA Radiologic Technologist Program
  • AA or BS degree preferred
  • At least 1 year of MRI experience preferred
  • Siemens experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt to advancements and changing technologies
  • Ability to identify contraindications for exams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and independent decision-making skills
  • Familiarity with clinical billing (IDX codes)
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and pathology
  • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities
