Patient Care Technician II

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician II to join our team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support services to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing specific tasks as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Support admissions, transfers, discharges, and patient transport.
- Collect and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, weights, and blood glucose levels.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members to share information and solve problems.
- Document patient information accurately and legibly.
- Participate in walking rounds with the oncoming and off-going PCT at shift change.
- Provide personalized care to patients and families, identifying and documenting special needs.
- Utilize available educational materials and resources for career development.
- Assist with code situations, including CPR and obtaining equipment.
- Adhere to infection control practices and safety policies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of patient care areas.
- High school diploma or GED.
- AHA BLS provider certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Minimum of three months experience as a PCT or currently in a junior semester of an Associates or Bachelor's nursing program.
This role requires significant manual skills, motor coordination, and finger dexterity. You will work in a fast-paced environment with some occupational risk and exposure to dirt, odor, noise, and human waste.
