We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician I to join our team at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Job SummaryThe Patient Care Technician I provides high-quality patient care and support services to patients and families in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and families.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Participate in code situations, including CPR and obtaining equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, including treatment rooms and patient care areas.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current NYS Certified Nurse Aide Training certificate preferred or completion of first clinical rotation at an accredited school of nursing.
- AHA BLS provider certification course required.
- Three to six months of CNA or PCT experience preferred.
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The Patient Care Technician I must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods. The role also requires exposure to dirt, odors, noise, and human waste.
