Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Conduct thorough analysis of cardiac anatomy and physiology, compiling necessary data for study interpretation.

2. Apply principles of physics in the operation of ultrasound equipment and image acquisition.

3. Share expertise with colleagues and physicians to enhance overall departmental skills and knowledge.

4. Demonstrate effective organization and prioritization of workload.

5. Assist physicians and staff as needed when requests for information or support arise.

6. Exhibit proficiency in operating all ultrasound systems and other non-invasive equipment, with troubleshooting knowledge.

7. Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

8. Maintain awareness and accountability for laboratory accreditation standards.

9. Contribute to departmental improvement initiatives.

10. Respond to staffing needs in other patient care areas as directed.

11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Allied health, CVT, or nursing background - REQUIRED

One year of experience as a cardiac sonographer in a hospital setting - PREFERRED

Education:

Allied Health, CVT, or nursing education - REQUIRED

Certification:

BLS certification within 90 days of employment; RDCS registry - REQUIRED
