Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Conducts precise assessments of all cardiac anatomy and physiology, integrating necessary data for study interpretation.

2. Applies principles of physics in the operation of ultrasound equipment and image acquisition.

3. Shares expertise with colleagues and physicians to enhance overall departmental skills and knowledge.

4. Demonstrates effective organization and prioritization of workload.

5. Assists physicians and staff when requests for information or support arise.

6. Exhibits proficiency in operating all ultrasound systems and non-invasive equipment, with troubleshooting knowledge.

7. Works effectively both independently and within a team environment.

8. Maintains awareness and accountability for laboratory accreditation standards.

9. Contributes to departmental improvement initiatives.

10. Responds to staffing needs in other patient care areas as directed.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

EXPERIENCE

Background in allied health, CVT, or nursing - REQUIRED

Minimum one year of experience as a cardiac sonographer in a hospital setting - PREFERRED

EDUCATION

Education in Allied Health, CVT, or nursing - REQUIRED

CERTIFICATION

BLS certification within 90 days of employment; RDCS registry - REQUIRED
