Position: Gas Service Technician

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to gas leak reports and emergency line breaks
  • Conduct thorough inspections of gas piping and appliances to ensure adherence to safety regulations
  • Diagnose and repair gas appliances as needed
  • Address customer inquiries regarding gas leaks or unusual gas usage
  • Perform meter readings and manage collection activities
  • Support emergency services during Carbon Monoxide incidents

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years in service or plumbing roles
  • Experience in the gas utility sector is preferred
  • Possession of a State of Alaska limited Plumber's License and Municipality of Anchorage Gasfitters card is advantageous
  • Experience in leak detection and Carbon Monoxide response
  • Willingness to work varied shifts and under diverse conditions
  • A valid driver's license from Alaska is mandatory
  • Successful completion of background checks, drug screenings, and driving record assessments is required

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes
  • Knowledge of gas appliance installation and natural gas systems
  • Ability to operate independently, especially in emergency scenarios
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Proficient in the use of portable computing devices
