KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as the engineering authority and technical resource for products and services.
  • Provide technical guidance, including interpretation of technical drawings and recommending construction and manufacturing techniques.
  • Oversee the creation of new designs and the modification of existing designs for tailored applications using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor software. Ensure all drawings/models are current and accurate.
  • Lead the engineering team in the development of CAM and CNC programming, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Generate precise bills of materials (BOM) for production items.
  • Draft installation manuals for both new and existing products.
  • Prepare technical reviews for the Department of State and verify the accuracy of submissions.
  • Manage customer change orders to ensure specifications are fulfilled promptly.
  • Guide research and development projects through the new product introduction process.
  • Serve as the communication bridge between the Engineering and Production teams.
  • Collaborate with operations to guarantee the efficient processing of design orders.
  • Resolve design challenges on the production floor to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering plans, processes, and protocols for the engineering team.
  • Promote safe working practices.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by the direct supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing context.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in CNC machine programming.
  • Familiarity with storefront and curtain wall systems.
  • Proficiency in reading architectural blueprints is essential.
  • Knowledge of door hardware packages is advantageous.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks).
  • Understanding of drafting standards and production processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Leadership qualities necessary for managing and nurturing an engineering team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with all departments.
