Transportation Specialist

The Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Transportation Specialist to transport students to and from school and on field trips. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class B Minnesota Driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsement, a clean driving record, and excellent communication skills.

• Drive the bus on assigned routes, ensuring the safety and well-being of children being transported.
• Follow state and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure all safety equipment is in working order.
• Develop and maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and school staff.
• Collaborate with the transportation coordinator to ensure efficient route planning and scheduling.

• Valid Class B Minnesota Driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Three to five years of experience as a bus driver or truck driver.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Three-month to one-year Certificate of completion in a truck or bus driving program.
• First Aid Certification.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background check.

The Transportation Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment, exposed to various weather conditions and potentially hazardous situations. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
