Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Specialist to join our team at Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. As a Transportation Specialist, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school and on field trips.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive a school bus on assigned routes, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Follow state and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional image, representing the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure smooth and efficient transportation services.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three-month to one-year Certificate of completion in a truck or bus driving program.
  • Three to five years of experience as a bus driver or truck driver.
  • Valid Class B Minnesota Driver's license with school bus and passenger endorsement.
  • Good driving record and ability to be insured under the Band's auto insurance policy.
  • Up-to-date First Aid Certification.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position with a typical schedule of two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, with some extra hours possible during the winter. The work environment is outdoors, with exposure to various weather conditions.
