Job Title: Inspector

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering, LLC (ICE) is seeking a skilled Inspector to support our projects in Florida. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our infrastructure projects.

Job Summary:

The Inspector will be responsible for monitoring daily activities on various projects to ensure that materials and work meet specifications. This includes performing engineering inspections, construction observation, and field sampling of asphalt, concrete, and earthwork. The Inspector will also record daily notes for the engineering staff and provide support to the Senior Inspector.

Responsibilities:
  • Familiarity with the Department's Procedures and proficient in computer programs necessary to perform duties.
  • Receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties.
  • Ensuring that materials and work meet specifications through daily monitoring and inspections.
  • Recording daily notes for the engineering staff.
  • Providing support to the Senior Inspector as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • EIT with a degree in engineering, engineering technology, and construction management desired.
  • Two years of experience in construction inspection with a minimum of one year of bridge and/or roadway construction experience desired.
  • Must have the following certifications: CTQP Final Estimates Level I, CTQP Concrete Field Inspector Level I, CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I, CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I, CTQP Pile Driving Inspection, CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection, IMSA Traffic Signal Inspector Level I, FDOT Intermediate MOT, Nuclear Radiation Safety, and Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors.
Physical Demands:

This position requires minimal lifting of up to 50 pounds sometimes on a frequent basis. The employee must be able to travel and tour work sites under adverse environmental conditions, including loud noise levels, high dust and dirt, and extreme temperature. The employee must also be able to visually examine construction materials and finished structures and work in various types of weather and field conditions, including heights, uneven terrain, highway traffic, hazards of highway construction sites, and heavy equipment.
