Job Overview
The State of New Mexico's Office of the State Auditor seeks highly motivated undergraduate students to fill two part-time internship positions. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in government auditing while supporting the OSA's professional staff.
Salary and Benefits
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $18.34 - $29.34, with an estimated annual salary of $38,140 - $61,024. As a part-time employee, you will be eligible for a hybrid work schedule, allowing you to balance your academic responsibilities with your work commitments.
Job Responsibilities
- Answering phones and responding to emails
- Assisting with ordering supplies and managing archiving, inventory, purchasing, contracts, and other fiscal documents
- Supporting audit preparation and research, developing data analysis and management reports, creating an audit tools library, and producing materials and manuals to meet quality review standards
- Conducting tests, writing recommendations, and performing various duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university OR completion of at least four semesters (or equivalent) at an accredited college or university within the last two (2) years
- Motivated to continuously learn by developing collaborative relationships
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Employees are periodically required to work at auditee's location for extended periods of time.
