Occupancy Coordinator

Job Overview:
The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh (HACP) is seeking a highly skilled Occupancy Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Occupancy department. This role involves interviewing applicants for housing, preparing required application information, and performing income and rent calculations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interviews applicants referred for housing and/or investigation.
- Assists applicants with preparing required information and inquiries regarding applications.
- Prepares applicant files according to established procedures.
- Enters applications into the system; updates computer and hard copy records.
- Orders criminal background checks and tenant checks; verifies income and employment information.
- Obtains references from applicants and community resources to determine eligibility.
- Computes rent based on applicant's income.
- Determines applicant eligibility for housing; generates letters based on determination.
- Provides concierge services for relocation projects, including assisting families with finding other housing options.
- Coordinates briefings for relocation and voucher programs.
- Prepares reports and databases.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; minimum 3 years professional experience in social services.
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to learn other software as needed.
Compensation: The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
