Asset Accounting Specialist

Job Summary
Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Asset Accounting Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for recording and maintaining fixed asset schedules and policies, as well as capital expenditure budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and maintain fixed asset schedules and policies
- Record and maintain capital expenditure budgets
- Report to management the status of capital budgets and assets, as well as depreciation
- Verify and post details of business transactions, including funds paid and disbursed, and reconcile report discrepancies
- Code data for input to financial data processing systems according to company procedures
- Assist in budgeting and cost management
- Record cost information for use in controlling expenditures
- Compile cost information for use in operating budget preparation
- Lead and assist with special projects in the accounting department
- Ensure timely month-end closing activities
- Lead departments managers and stakeholders to identify and improve efficiencies and reduce costs
- Work with auditors to provide timely reporting
- Understand and implement current accounting standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience in a related field
- Experience in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel
