**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Specialist to join our team at Baystate Health. As an Environmental Services Specialist, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, corridors, public areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning, room turnover cleaning, and terminal cleaning of specialty areas, including but not limited to: Emergency Department, Operating Rooms, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and other high-intensity units.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of flexibility, organization, and prioritization of work to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment.
  • Works in a team environment, collaborating with co-workers and unit staff to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Responsible for adhering to system and department policies, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to perform daily responsibilities with minimal supervision, following departmental duty lists to complete tasks.
  • Performs other departmental duties as required.
  • Responsible for conducting daily terminal cleaning, maintaining log books, and utilizing UV-C disinfection technology.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of all horizontal and vertical surfaces, equipment, and furniture.
  • Responsible for the proper removal of municipal solid waste, regulated medical waste, soiled linen, and recyclables.
  • Responsible for high and low dusting, applying finish or polish to wood and steel surfaces.
  • Responsible for daily cleaning of floors, baseboards, corners, and edges.
  • Responsible for changing cubicle curtains as needed.
  • Must be able to maintain pace in high-intensity units.
  • Must be able to break down, clean, and disinfect various specialty equipment, such as operating tables.
  • Responsible for moving rolling stock, such as stretchers and beds, as needed.

**Education and Certifications:**

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Certifications in environmental services or a related field preferred.
