We are seeking a Cloud Middleware Specialist with a robust background in Kafka and IBM MQ within a cloud-centric infrastructure. As a key member of the Cloud Platform Engineering team, this role involves facilitating our microservices deployments on Kubernetes through infrastructure as code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support for Kafka, MQ, WebSphere, and Oracle applications in a high-availability environment.
  • Oversee middleware systems, ensuring optimal performance both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to diagnose issues and deploy new features.
  • Install and configure IBM MQ on Linux systems and in cloud environments.
  • Manage Kafka connectors across Linux and cloud platforms such as IBM, Azure, and GCP.
  • Drive continuous enhancement of the platform through both proprietary and third-party solutions.
  • Engage in Digital Transformation initiatives to modernize applications leveraging emerging technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years in Information Technology.
  • Experience with complex systems utilizing microservices architecture and large databases.
  • At least 2 years of experience in IBM MQ Administration.
  • 2+ years of expertise as a Kafka Administrator.
  • Proficient in creating Kafka Topics and brokers.
  • Experience with real-time data ingestion using source and sink Kafka connectors.
  • Skilled in creating MQ clustering queues and channels.
  • Familiarity with WebSphere MQ 9.0/9.1 on Linux platforms.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of GIT, Terraform, and container orchestration tools is a plus.
  • Proficient scripting and coding skills for utility and ad-hoc projects.
  • Experience with Unix Shell Scripting.
  • Exposure to cloud computing, particularly Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of infrastructure automation, scalability, and microservices architecture.
  • 4 years of experience working with Linux and AIX systems.
  • 2 years of experience in a cloud-based environment.
