We are hiring a Middleware Engineer with experience in Kafka, IBM MQ, in a cloud based environment. As part of the Cloud Platform Engineering team, the Middleware Engineer will be supporting our microservices deployments in Kubernetes using infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities:

• Support kafka, MQ, websphere and oracle apps in a 24/7 environment
• Monitor middleware systems, both front end and backend, internally and externally.
• Work closely with development, QA and business teams to troubleshoot issues and implement new functionality.
• Install and configure IBM MQ running on linux systemsand in cloud
• Manage Kafka connectors on linux and cloud platforms like IBM, azure and GCP
• Continuous improvement of the platform via both homegrown and purchased solutions.
• Work on Digital Transformation and modernize the application based on new technologies

Requirements:

• 6 years of in Information Technology Experience
• Experience in working with very complex system using micro services architecture and on large databases
• 2+ years of IBM MQ Administration and Technology Experience
• 2+ yrs of well-versed experience as Kafka Administrator
• Hands-on experience in creating Kafka Topics/brokers
• Worked with Real time data ingestion with source and sink Kafka connectors
• Experienced in creating the MQ clustering queues and channels
• Working knowledge of WebSphere MQ 9.0/9.1 on Linux platform
• Experience in - Docker, Kubernetes, containerization
• GIT, Terraform, Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
• Scripting and code writing skills needed for utility and adhoc projects
• Unix Shell Scripting experience
• Exposure to working with Cloud computing, especially google Cloud
• Exposure to Infrastructure automation, scalability, micro services architecture
• 4 years of experience as the working with Linux and AIX Systems
• 2 years working in a cloud based environment
